Organism Name | Pseudomonas stutzeri |
Project Description | Pseudomonas stutzeri 19SMN4 (= DSM 6084) is the reference strain of the genomovar 4 of its species. It is a benzoate-, naphthalene- and salicylate-degrading bacterium that was isolated on February 1988 from marine sediments of Barcelona coast (Spain) using 2-methylnaphthalene as unique carbon and energy source. Naphthalene degradation pathway is plasmid encoded. Naphthalene degradation proceeds via salicylate and catechol, being this last compound channeled to TCA by meta-cleavage. |
